The Rapture: Ruth Madeley and India Amarteifio to Lead Cast of New BBC Thriller

BBC One

The BBC has announced the full cast for The Rapture, a new high-stakes thriller from Mammoth Screen. Ruth Madeley (Doctor Who) and India Amarteifio (Queen Charlotte) will lead the series, which is an adaptation of Liz Jensen’s bestselling novel and is currently filming in Wales for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The series centers on forensic psychologist Gabs Fox (Madeley), who takes a job at a high-security psychiatric hospital. There, she meets Bethany Krall (Amarteifio), a 17-year-old convicted of killing her own mother. Bethany insists on her innocence, claiming to have psychic powers that allow her to see the future. The plot will follow Gabs as she tries to uncover the truth behind the murder and the nature of Bethany’s supposed abilities.
