FOX’s “The Real Full Monty” returns for a special two-hour event, reminding us that sometimes, less is more – especially when it comes to raising awareness for critical health issues.
Anthony Anderson wrangles a fresh batch of male celebrities, including Taye Diggs, Chris Jones, Tyler Posey, the ever-energetic Bruno Tonioli, and Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek. Their mission? To conquer their inhibitions (and perhaps a few wardrobe malfunctions) in a choreographed striptease designed to encourage men to get checked for prostate, testicular, and colorectal cancer.
Under the watchful eye of choreographer Mandy Moore, these guys will be shaking what their mamas gave them, all while sharing personal stories about how cancer has touched their lives. It’s a high-wire act balancing vulnerability, humor, and the sheer awkwardness of stripping down in front of a live audience.
Will they nail the routine? Will someone accidentally floss with their microphone cord? These are the burning questions that plague us. More importantly, though, the special aims to spark a crucial conversation about men’s health and the importance of early detection. It’s a gamble, certainly, but one with potentially life-saving rewards. Tune in to see if these brave souls can pull it off – and perhaps inspire a few check-ups along the way.
“The Real Full Monty” airs Monday, January 1, 2024, from 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.
