If you’ve ever watched “The Real Housewives” and thought, “What about the kids?”, Hayu has an answer for you. A new series, “Next Gen NYC,” arrives on the streaming service Tuesday, 4 June, following a group of young adults trying to make their mark on New York City. And yes, many of them have very famous reality TV parents.
Leading the charge are Ariana Biermann, Riley Burruss, Ava Dash, Gia Giudice, and Brooks Marks – all offspring of folks you’ve seen on the “Real Housewives.” But this show aims to show them working the city on their own terms, tackling friendships, work, and dating. Of course, the cameras will catch some appearances from their parents, too, including Kandi Burruss, Teresa Giudice, Meredith and Seth Marks, and Kim Zolciak-Biermann.
Each of the main cast members has their own thing going on. Ariana Biermann is starting her own streetwear line with her high school boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, who’s working the city’s social circuit. Riley Burruss is figuring out what she really wants to do before heading to law school. Ava Dash, whose parents are Damon Dash and Rachel Roy, is pursuing modeling full-time. Gia Giudice is balancing law school classes, a long-distance relationship, and family stuff. Brooks Marks, already in the fashion world, aims to build his own name.
The cast also includes Emira D’Spain, a content creator trying to balance love and work; Georgia McCann, a brand strategist whose life gets complicated by a new romance; and Charlie Zakkour, a crypto trader who finds being single causes more drama than he expected. “Next Gen NYC” looks set to follow this group as they try to build their lives in the Big Apple, all while living in the shadow – or perhaps basking in the light – of their famous families.
