Real Time with Bill Maher: John Shapiro, Sam Stein, Batya Ungar-Sargon (HBO, Friday, March 14, 2025)

Real Time with Bill Maher

Bill Maher returns to his HBO perch this Friday, ready to dissect the week’s news with his signature blend of sharp wit and political commentary. This week’s “Real Time” features a one-on-one interview with Pennsylvania’s Democratic Governor, Josh Shapiro, offering a chance to dig into the political landscape of a key swing state.

Joining Maher for the panel discussion are Sam Stein, a familiar face from The Bulwark and MSNBC, and Batya Ungar-Sargon, author of “Second Class: The Resurgence of Elitism and the Betrayal of the American Dream”. Given the varied perspectives of these guests, the conversation could veer anywhere from reasoned debate to full-blown sparring – always a possibility on Maher’s show.

Of course, no episode of “Real Time” would be complete without Maher’s opening monologue, where he sets the tone for the evening, and his “New Rules” segment, which allows him to offer his often-contrarian take on contemporary issues.

For those wanting more Maher, his recent HBO comedy special, “Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?” is currently streaming on Max. Catch “Real Time with Bill Maher” this Friday, March 14th, at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT on HBO.
