Carlos King, the maestro of messy reality TV, is adding another show to his already overstuffed empire. This time, he’s turning the spotlight on the stars of his other shows, which frankly sounds a bit like an ouroboros of reality television, but who am I to judge? “Reality with the King” premieres Friday on OWN, and his first guest is none other than Lateshia Pearson of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” fame.
Prepare for a deep dive into all things Huntsville, as Pearson discusses the recent season’s drama and the fallout from the explosive reunion special. Given the tendency of “Love & Marriage” reunions to resemble verbal cage matches, there’s bound to be plenty of material to cover. The focus will be on Pearson’s confrontation with Aikisha in the season finale, a clash that shook the Huntsville foundations.
King, the executive producer of both “Love & Marriage” and “Belle Collective,” is known for his ability to extract juicy details from his reality TV subjects. Whether he can maintain a balance of inquisitiveness and respect with Pearson, however, remains to be seen. Will he push too hard, or will Pearson hold back, wary of further igniting the Huntsville firestorm?
“Reality with the King” will air weekly on Friday nights, featuring intimate conversations with the stars of OWN’s reality TV lineup.
“Reality with the King” premieres Friday at 9/8c on OWN.
