Renovating a house is stressful enough. Renovating your husband’s childhood home, under the watchful eye of your in-laws, with a looming Christmas party deadline? That’s a whole different level of complicated. This is precisely the challenge facing Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama in Tuesday’s episode of “Renovation Aloha.”
Tristyn has tackled some demanding design clients in the past, but as she readily admits, her in-laws might be her toughest challenge yet. This renovation isn’t just about updating a house; it’s about transforming a space filled with family history, a place where Kamohai grew up on the island of O’ahu. And with the Kalama clan’s annual Christmas party fast approaching, the pressure is on to finish the project on time and to everyone’s liking.
As always, “Renovation Aloha” will feature the extended Kalama family, including the many cousins who lend their construction expertise to the project. Expect some Hawaiian-inspired design flair and, of course, plenty of family dynamics at play.
