After seven weeks of dust, demolition, and design dilemmas, HGTV’s “Renovation Resort” reaches its grand finale this Sunday. The four remaining teams, having poured their blood, sweat, and probably a few tears into transforming dilapidated cabins into waterfront showpieces, might think they’re ready for a celebratory dip in the lake. Think again.
In “Down By The River,” Scott McGillivray and Bryan Baeumler have one last surprise in store for the exhausted duos: a final challenge designed to benefit the entire resort community. It’s a twist that injects a welcome dose of community spirit into the often cutthroat world of renovation competitions. After all, what’s a fancy new vacation destination without, you know, a functioning community?
This final task adds another surprise to the judging process. McGillivray and Baeumler will have to assess not only the quality of the work, but also how well each team contributes to the greater good of the resort. Who can best balance individual ambition with a sense of collective responsibility? Who will crack under the pressure? And, most importantly, who will walk away with the $100,000 prize and the coveted title of “Renovation Resort Champions”?
Tune in to HGTV this Sunday, May 18 at 9:00 PM ET to witness the final showdown.
