The sun-drenched beaches of Oahu are about to get a little less tranquil when Rescue: HI-Surf returns to FOX on Monday, February 3 at 9:02 PM Eastern Time. In the new episode, “Surge,” the North Shore lifeguard crew faces a tsunami advisory after an earthquake rocks the island. But the impending natural disaster is only half the battle for Captain Sonny (Robbie Magasiva), who must also contend with a more personal crisis: his missing daughter.
It seems that Ocean, Sonny’s rebellious offspring, has chosen the absolute worst possible moment to skip school and vanish. As the island evacuates in anticipation of a potential tsunami, Sonny must juggle his professional responsibilities with the frantic search for his wayward child. Will he locate her before the waves hit? Or will this episode end on a cliffhanger that will leave viewers dangling until next week? Let’s hope not, because honestly, who needs that kind of stress?
This is the twelfth episode of the first season, and it’s rated TV-14 for language. Expect plenty of tense moments, dramatic rescues, and probably a few cheesy one-liners as the team races against time and tide. Whether the tsunami actually materializes is anyone’s guess. Sometimes these natural disaster plots fizzle out like a weak wave, and the real drama unfolds elsewhere. But if Rescue: HI-Surf truly commits to the tsunami threat, expect some CGI-heavy wave action. Just try not to think too hard about the science behind it.
Rescue: HI-Surf airs Monday, February 3rd at 9:02 PM Eastern Time on FOX.
