Return to Paradise Episode 2

In the latest episode of Return to Paradise, DI Mackenzie Clarke finds herself drawn into the world of wellness and influencer culture as she investigates the mysterious death of a prominent figure in the industry.

The episode opens with a tragic turn of events as local celebrity Curtis Faleafa collapses at the finish line of the Dolphin Cove Fun Run, apparently from a heart attack. Mackenzie then receives a cryptic voicemail from Curtis right before his death, sparking her curiosity and suspicion.

With poison suspected as the potential cause, Mackenzie sets out to uncover how someone could have tampered with Curtis’ drink among hundreds of others during the fun run.

Curtis’ partner, Jade McCready, a former Dolphin Cove girl turned global wellness influencer, has built an empire around her personal story of beating cancer twice and credits her JADE-branded supplements for her recovery. With an imminent $40 million sale of JADE Limited to private equity, both Jade and Curtis had a lot to gain from this transaction.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie continues to face challenges in her personal life. Colin resists her leadership on the case, leading to tensions between them. As a result, Colin finds himself displaced from his dream house and job. Mackenzie also encounters resistance from Glenn’s cousin, Trevor, and deals with trespassing bathers on her property. However, she finds a supportive ally in Daisy (Andrea Demetriades), who defends her to Colin.
