In the fourth episode of ABC Australia’s Return to Paradise, which airs on Sunday evening, the mysterious death of a charismatic activist, Byron Jones, takes center stage. Byron is found dead while participating in a logging protest, chained to a group of protestors around an excavator in a remote location.
The intrigue deepens as his brother, Henry, husband, Ken, and fellow activist, Maggie, are also chained to him, none of them witnessing Byron’s killer.
The investigation into Byron’s death points to the possibility of an intruder under the cover of darkness, but security footage provides no clear answers. Among the suspects is Fiona Kolios, the Operations Manager of Sunshine Timber.
However, Byron’s death is not the only puzzle that needs solving. Mackenzie, adept at cracking cases, finds herself in a personal dilemma when her ex-fiancé, Glenn, requests the return of a family heirloom engagement ring so he can propose to someone new. Despite her investigative prowess, Mackenzie struggles with her emotions and seeks the help of Reggie, who offers a different perspective.
Meanwhile, Colin embraces Mackenzie’s investigative style as he immerses himself in solving a word puzzle, hoping to find a breakthrough in the case.
