Reuben Owen continues to expand his heavy machinery business in the Yorkshire Dales, and this week’s episode of his series presents a full slate of new projects. From property renovation to community service, Reuben, his girlfriend Jess, and friend Sonny tackle a range of jobs.
The main project begins as Reuben and his father, Clive, invest in a 200-year-old stone cottage in Thwaite with plans to renovate and sell it. Their work gets off to an interesting start when they find an old well hidden beneath the flagstones inside.
In addition to his own venture, Reuben lends a hand on Jess’s family farm, helping round up the flock. Jess also puts her design skills to use, creating the layout for new sheep pens for a local farmer, a job that requires Reuben to excavate land around a shed. The episode also features a spot of community work, as Reuben, Sonny, Jess, and Sidney take on the task of filling potholes at the local pub, which happens to be the highest inn in England. The show continues to document the hardworking and varied life of a young entrepreneur in a rural community.
Reuben Owen: Life in The Dales airs on 5, Tuesday, 17 June at 8:00 PM GMT.
