Single mum Izzy and her 19-year-old son, Ethan, set out on a unique holiday experience. Ethan, who is on the autism spectrum, has always dreamed of visiting America, and this trip to Nashville offers an opportunity for him to explore new places and interact with others. With their limited budget, such a holiday would usually be out of reach, but they’re about to swap lives with semi-retirees Steve, Denise, and Ella, who are used to five-star accommodations and exotic locations.
Steve, Denise, and Ella find themselves in a very different setting—the island of Tenerife. Their accommodation is a far cry from their usual luxury, and they must adapt to shared facilities and organized activities with other holidaymakers. As they explore the island, from camel rides to budget breakfasts and a pub quiz, will their perceptions of package holidays change?
Meanwhile, Izzy and Ethan dive into the Nashville experience, trying out everything from monster truck rides to creating their own cowboy hats and even recording a country song. Izzy hopes that this holiday will help Ethan build confidence and social skills. Will their shared adventures bring them closer and give them both valuable experiences?
