The couple, who usually holiday in South Wales, find themselves in a world of luxury with a private aquavilla overlooking the Indian Ocean. They try new experiences such as snorkelling, fine dining, and aerial yoga.
Back in the UK, flash city boys Jeff and Steph, who typically spend their holidays in Ibiza or Dubai, find themselves in Skegness, sharing a twin room in a budget B&B. They take part in activities like line dancing and go-karting, a far cry from their usual extravagant trips.
Gemma and Stefan’s life is busy and full-on. Stefan has dreams of becoming a paramedic, but for now, that’s on hold while he works as a bin man. Gemma, a student nurse, juggles her studies with looking after their two children. Last year, the couple got married but had to skip their honeymoon due to limited funds. Instead, they went on a cheap holiday to Benidorm with their children.
Now, they find themselves in the Maldives, a magical setting that feels like something out of a screensaver. The couple embraces new experiences, trying snorkelling, fine dining, and even aerial yoga for the first time. Will this romantic getaway inspire them to pursue their dreams for a better future?
Meanwhile, Jeff and Steph are used to spending big bucks on designer clothes and supercars. They admit they’re out of touch with reality and are looking forward to appreciating the simpler things in life. Despite the cold temperatures and grey skies, they embrace the week’s activities with enthusiasm. From line dancing to go-karting, they discover that Skegness has a lot to offer, and they learn to appreciate the fun of a British budget break.
