Ah, Christmas in Shieldinch. The twinkling lights, the forced merriment, the inevitable family drama exploding like a forgotten cracker in a fireplace. This year’s festive episode of “River City” doesn’t disappoint, delivering a stocking full of secrets, surprises, and spiked eggnog.
Mikey and Jonathon’s carefully curated Christmas celebration takes a swift turn south with the arrival of Sonny, courtesy of Gillian. Gillian, bless her heart, attempts to discreetly inform Mikey about Sonny’s drinking issue. But in true soap opera fashion, Jonathon overhears and, in a move that can only be described as festive malice, decides to tamper with Sonny’s drink. Expect escalating tensions and the distinct possibility of a Christmas brawl.
Elsewhere, Sam’s attempt at a grand romantic gesture—presenting Caitlin with an engagement ring—crashes headfirst into a private moment between Caitlin and Seb. The fallout from this interrupted proposal is sure to ripple through Shieldinch faster than a bad rumour.
Finally, in a touch of holiday redemption, Bob crashes the O’Hara Christmas gathering, much to Scarlett’s chagrin. Yet, in a plot twist even Dickens might find heartwarming, Bob and Mulvaney team up to inject some much-needed forgiveness into the festive proceedings.
