After a dramatic season finale that left Officer John Nolan fighting for his life, The Rookie returns for a seventh season, picking up the pieces – literally. “The Shot” finds Nolan on the long road to recovery after taking a bullet, a journey that’s sure to be as much mental as physical.
While Nolan grapples with his mortality and the potential end of his career, the Mid-Wilshire division faces a double whammy: two escaped convicts with axes to grind and scores to settle. It’s not exactly the welcome wagon the two new rookies were expecting on their first day.
Sure, every rookie class thinks they’ve seen it all, but this time, the training wheels are off before they’ve even left the parking lot. The question isn’t whether Nolan can return to duty, but whether the team can hold it together while he’s out.
