“The Rookie” tackles a case ripped from the headlines – or at least, inspired by a certain Oscar-winning film – this Tuesday. When anti-LAPD billboards start popping up across the city, the team finds itself grappling with a very public display of animosity. This city-wide hunt for the people responsible for the billboards becomes intertwined with another urgent investigation: a car bombing.
Amidst the chaos, Officer Tim Bradford’s personal life takes a turn. He reconnects with someone from his past, though the nature of the reunion is somewhat vague at this point. Meanwhile, John and Bailey continue their journey towards parenthood but find themselves questioning their readiness to adopt a child.
“Three Billboards” looks to be a classic “Rookie” blend of police procedural and personal drama. Can they find those responsible for the provocative billboards, and more importantly, prevent further attacks? And will John and Bailey take the leap into parenthood?
