In this second episode, Michel Roux Jr. continues his culinary journey along the Thames River, visiting Greenwich and Southwark. He starts his day at the 2-star Trivet restaurant, where he savours exquisite dishes and draws inspiration from the talented chefs.
Then, he explores the historic Cutty Sark ship and a traditional riverside pub, indulging in their unique offerings of pork gnocchi, red mullet, mushroom millefeuille, and fruit soup.
Michel then boards his boat and sets sail along the Thames, one of Britain’s most historic waterways. He highlights the evolution of cuisine along the river, from the rural idylls of Bray to the vibrant urban landscape of London’s East End.
Michel highlights the diverse culinary scene, including Michelin-starred establishments and the traditional fare of the East End, as well as featuring some of the most innovative young chefs, shops, and markets that the area has to offer.
Back on his boat, Michel prepares a selection of dishes inspired by his travels. He creates luxurious lobster ravioli, a smoked duck burger, a classic lemon tart, and a heartfelt apple crumble, each dish a tribute to the flavours and traditions of the Thames.
