Ryan Murphy’s ‘Dr. Odyssey’ adds Don Johnson to Cast

Veteran actor Don Johnson is set to star alongside Joshua Jackson in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming ABC series, ‘Dr. Odyssey.’ Johnson, known for his roles in ‘Miami Vice’ and ‘Nash Bridges,’ adds another notable credit to his extensive career.

While plot details are being tightly guarded, ‘Dr. Odyssey’ is believed to be a medical procedural with a unique setting: a cruise ship. This maritime twist adds an intriguing dimension to the traditional medical drama format.

The series will be written and executive produced by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, who have previously collaborated on projects including ‘Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.’ Paris Barclay, an Emmy-nominated director and frequent Murphy collaborator, will direct and executive produce.

Joshua Jackson, known for his roles in ‘Dawson’s Creek‘ and ‘The Affair,’ takes on the lead role in ‘Dr. Odyssey.’ He will portray a charming character whose wit and charisma help him achieve his desires. Jackson will also serve as an executive producer on the series.

Dr. Odyssey‘ marks Murphy’s second series on ABC, following the successful move of ‘9-1-1′ from Fox. The series is slated for a fall launch, targeting a broad audience with its unique blend of medical drama and Murphy’s signature storytelling style.
