Drew Pritchard returns to Quest with another episode of “Salvage Hunters,” and this week, he’s off to Yorkshire, sniffing around for some decent finds. Will he find something worthwhile or is this a wild goose chase in the dreary north? Who knows?
In “Changing Spaces,” airing Wednesday, February 19th at 21:00, Pritchard and his sidekick Tee are exploring the antique stash of a highly-regarded dealer in God’s Own Country. They’re also planning to visit a fourth-generation metalsmith because, well, Pritchard apparently needs to find some sort of special metal doodad.
Pritchard’s perpetual quest for the unique and the unusual is what makes “Salvage Hunters” work. It’s a show that manages to be both engaging and oddly soothing, even if you have zero interest in buying a rusty garden gnome or a taxidermied badger. Pritchard’s persona—a mix of charming rogue and shrewd businessman—is the glue that holds it all together.
Whether you’re a die-hard antiques enthusiast or just someone who enjoys watching a bloke rummage around dusty barns, “Changing Spaces” might just be worth a look. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself suddenly wanting a vintage barber chair or a cast-iron bathtub.
“Salvage Hunters” airs Wednesdays at 9:00 PM on Quest.
