Sam Neill's Australian Drama The Twelve Premieres on ITVX on 16 February

ITVX has announced that Sam Neill starring drama The Twelve, an original series from FOXTEL, will premiere exclusively on the service on 16 February.

A woman is on trial for the death of her young niece, and this riveting courtroom drama chronicles the story of the 12 average Australians who are called to serve on the jury.

These twelve seemingly average citizens each have their own story to tell, hidden behind their assumed obscurity. Individuals’ backstories are as convoluted as the trial itself, with their share of broken hopes, embarrassing secrets, tempered optimism, justified anxiety, painful experiences, and unconscious biases. Audiences will observe the frailty and inequities of the law, as well as the disordered and erroneous manner we seek to discern justice in our society, through the varied perspectives of these jurors.

The strongly cast series also stars Marta Dusseldorp (Wentworth, Stateless, A Place to Call Home) and Kate Mulvany (Fighting Season, Lambs of God, Hunters).

The 10-episode crime drama commissioned by the FOXTEL Group, is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia in partnership with Easy Tiger Productions with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with FOXTEL. Financed with support from Screen NSW. The series is distributed globally by FIFTH SEASON. Executive Producers for the Foxtel Group are Brian Walsh and Penny Win.

The Twelve Premieres 16 February on ITVX.
