Netflix is adapting another Harlan Coben novel, I Will Find You, into a limited series, with Sam Worthington (Avatar) set to star. This adds to Netflix’s growing collection of Coben adaptations, which includes Fool Me Once and The Stranger.
Here’s the Lowdown: I Will Find You tells the story of David Burroughs (Worthington), a man wrongly imprisoned for his son Matthew’s murder. Despite overwhelming evidence against him, David maintains his innocence. Years later, he receives proof that Matthew might still be alive, prompting a daring prison escape to find his son.
What This Means Now: This is Worthington’s first leading role in a Netflix series, although he’s appeared in several of the platform’s films. While the actors playing David’s wife, Cheryl, and son, Matthew, are still unknown, the project is moving forward with Coben himself as co-creator and executive producer.
The Bigger Picture: The series, ordered in November, marks the first US adaptation of a Coben book under his Netflix deal. Robert Hull (God Friended Me) is showrunner, with Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, and John Weber also executive producing. The eight-episode limited series will be a Netflix exclusive, although a specific release date hasn’t been set yet, it will be available to stream in 2025.
