Sandi Toksvig, apparently not content with merely conquering the worlds of comedy, writing, and broadcasting, is now taking on Mother Nature. In her new series, Sandi’s Great British Woodland Restoration, she and her wife, Debbie, attempt to reclaim a patch of overgrown woodland in southern England.
The premiere finds Sandi, fresh off a bout with bronchial pneumonia, embarking on this ambitious project. Along the way, she’ll acquire new skills, like tree-felling (one hopes with minimal collateral damage) and bat-roost identification.
The series also aims highlight the dire state of UK woodlands, blending education with entertainment, and perhaps a touch of Toksvig’s signature wit.
Sandi’s Great British Woodland Restoration premieres Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 8:00 PM on Channel 4.
