Right, then. The lads of the SAS are back for more desert shenanigans, or at least that’s the plan. Season 2 of SAS Rogue Heroes kicks off on New Year’s Day, and while the fireworks may have faded, the explosions most certainly haven’t. This time around, Paddy Mayne (Jack O’Connell) and David Stirling (Connor Swindells) find themselves not just facing a new mission, but also the very real possibility that their little band of misfits will be disbanded altogether. As if Rommel wasn’t enough trouble.
The first episode throws the SAS straight back into the thick of it with a fresh objective. Details, of course, are scarce, but let’s just say things in the North African theater of war remain as volatile as ever. What’s more, the top brass seem less than convinced about the long-term viability of the Special Air Service. You know, those chaps who like to blow things up behind enemy lines? Apparently, some people don’t appreciate that sort of initiative. Go figure.
Thankfully, a helping hand—or should we say, a familiar name—is expected to emerge from the shadows, offering a glimmer of hope for the fledgling unit.
With a cast bursting at the seams, including the likes of Dominic West returning as Dudley Wrangel Clarke and Sofia Boutella as Eve Mansour, alongside the core group of troublemakers—Theo Barklem-Biggs, Jack Barton, and Stuart Campbell among them—SAS Rogue Heroes appears ready to deliver another dose of its particular brand of wartime chaos. So, clear your schedule for New Year’s Day. Just try not to blow up the living room in celebration.
SAS Rogue Heroes airs Monday, January 1, 2025, at 9:00 PM on BBC One.
