Savannah Bananas Bring ‘Banana Ball’ Mayhem to Broadcast in CW Debut This July

The CW

The viral baseball phenomenon that’s been lighting up TikTok is finally making the jump to broadcast. The CW has locked in a two-and-a-half-hour window to air the first-ever televised Savannah Bananas Banana Ball game on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 3:00–5:30 p.m. ET.

The game, taped in front of a sold-out crowd of 40,000 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, marks a significant crossover moment for the Savannah Bananas—a team better known for choreographed walk-ups, trick plays, flaming bats, and more viral antics than most pro leagues combined.

The Bananas boast a staggering 9.8M followers on TikTok, outpacing every major U.S. sports franchise across the MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL. Since their 2016 launch in Savannah, Georgia, the club has sold out every home game, building a brand that’s equal parts baseball and full-throttle showmanship.

The July special is part of The CW’s wider push into live sports, joining a lineup that already includes the NASCAR Xfinity Series, WWE NXT, AVP beach volleyball, and college football from the ACC and Pac-12. The network will also carry NASCAR from Mexico City on June 14.

SVP of CW Sports Mike Perman said the network sees clear crossover potential in the Bananas’ high-energy, family-friendly chaos. The team’s founder and CEO Jesse Cole called the partnership a “no-brainer,” citing the network’s growing sports slate.

Banana Ball may not be traditional baseball, but that’s the point—and it’s exactly what The CW is betting on.
