SBS Original Thriller Safe Home Premieres Thursday 11 May

The debut date for Safe Home, an original thriller series from SBS, has been set. On Thursday, May 11 at 8:30 p.m., the first two episodes of the programme will premiere on SBS and SBS On Demand.
Safe Home is a moving drama that investigates the causes of the nationwide epidemic of family abuse. It brings to life the assumptions and preconceptions that surround family violence by showcasing the people and stories behind the figures.
The show takes viewers on a roller coaster ride, demonstrating how challenging it is to recognise warning signs in the real world, even for those whose livelihoods rely on it.
Logie nominee Mabel Li (New Gold Mountain, The Tailings), Virginia Gay (Judy & Punch, Winners & Losers), Thomas Cocquerel (The Gilded Age, Red Dog), and Antonia Prebble (The Bold Type) round out the stellar ensemble. (Westside, Outrageous Fortune).
Phoebe, a professional in her twenties, is followed over the course of the four episodes as she makes the transition from a prestigious law company to a financially unstable family violence legal centre. As the tales weave together, the relationships between characters are put to the test, and the stakes of rescuing the hub increase. Phoebe faces a challenging journey full of twists and turns, where not everyone is who they seem to be.
Hal Cumpston (The Walking Dead), Chenoa Deemal (Troppo), David Roberts (Total Control), Janet Andrewartha (Neighbours), Mark Mitchinson (The Hobbit), Tegan Stimson (Irreverent), Katlyn Wong (Mystic), Nicholas Burton (Barons), and Yuchen Wang are among the supporting ensemble members. Produced by Anna Barnes, a critically acclaimed playwright and screenwriter, Safe Home is Imogen Banks’ first series under her new company, Kindling Pictures. Anna, Michelle Law, and Jean Tong (and co-producer Emelyne Palmer) wrote and created the series. Award-winning director Stevie Cruz-Martin (The Tailings, Pulse) and award-winning producer Banks (Offspring, Puberty Blues, RFDS) are both involved in the production of the performance.
