SBS Sets Final Verdict Episode for Hunt for Truth: Tasmanian Tiger

Hunt for Truth: Tasmanian Tiger returns to SBS on Wednesday night with one last shot at answering the question it set up a year ago: is the thylacine really gone?

Journalist Tim Noonan is back on camera, this time following up on the flood of sightings, leads and whistleblower claims that arrived after the show’s first season. The final episode tracks those responses across new ground, literally and politically, as Noonan enters Tasmania’s southwest and pushes for access to files that haven’t been shown publicly before.

There’s a sharper edge to this closer. Noonan joins forces with “Tigerman,” a private searcher who has spent six figures chasing the animal and claims to have found key signs near a cave that may now hold physical evidence.

But the series is no longer chasing shadows. The final stretch is about closing the loop. Viewers will see the best case, the strongest counterpoints, and the moment Noonan draws a line under the mystery with his own verdict.

SBS will air the special at 7.30pm Wednesday 25 June.
