This summer, the CBS Television Network will air the first season of the highly popular Paramount+ series TULSA KING before the second season launches exclusively on Paramount+ in the fall. This move aligns with Paramount Global’s strategy to introduce Paramount+ originals to wider audiences through its linear platforms.
TULSA KING has been a massive success on Paramount+, ranking as one of its most-watched series ever, surpassed only by Sheridan’s 1923. When the series premiered in November 2022, it set a record for single-day subscriber growth since the launch of Paramount+ and remained the most-watched show on the platform during its run alongside NFL ON CBS.
The plot of TULSA KING revolves around Dwight “The General” Manfredi (played by Sylvester Stallone), a New York mafia capo who is released from prison after 25 years and is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, by his boss as punishment. Suspecting that his mob family may not have his best interests at heart, Dwight recruits an unlikely group of individuals to help him establish a new criminal empire in what feels like an alien world to him. The first season also features Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany.
Taylor Sheridan—creator and Oscar nominee—and Terence Winter—Oscar nominee and Emmy winner—serve as executive producers for TULSA KING’s first season. Additionally, Sylvester Stallone joins them as an executive producer along with David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin,
Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood.
Apart from TULSA KING’s upcoming network premiere on CBS this summer, Sheridan has an impressive lineup of projects on Paramount+. These include 1883; MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN (currently in production for its third season); SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS; LAWMEN: BASS REEVES; LANDMAN, a new series on the horizon; and the second season of 1923, which is set to begin production later this year.
Details regarding the premiere dates and times for TULSA KING on CBS will be announced at a later date.
