A&E lifts the veil on Nevada’s Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Secrets of the Bunny Ranch, a new docuseries premiering Thursday, June 12 at 9 PM ET. The first episode, Smoke & Mirrors, sets out to dismantle the carefully crafted image of brothel life popularized by HBO’s Cathouse, revealing a reality far removed from the on-camera glitz and glamour.
Through interviews with former sex workers—many speaking publicly for the first time—the series explores the lasting impact of their time at the Ranch, including allegations of manipulation, sexual assault, and a culture of fear that operated beneath the surface of the notorious Nevada establishment.
The series also examines the outsized persona of Dennis Hof, the late owner of the Bunny Ranch whose political aspirations and tabloid-ready antics often overshadowed the lives of the women working under his roof. From Lamar Odom’s near-death experience at the Ranch to Hof’s own controversial rise to power, Secrets of the Bunny Ranch doesn’t flinch from the complex, and often troubling, legacy of the man at its center.
The premiere pulls from unseen footage, personal photos, and accounts from both ex-employees and Cathouse crew members to present a fuller picture of the Bunny Ranch. For viewers drawn to stories about social issues, power dynamics, and the hidden costs of fame, this one looks to be a must-watch.
Secrets of the Bunny Ranch premieres Thursday, June 12th at 9:00 PM ET on A&E.
