The fourth episode of See No Evil’s 13th season, titled “The Girl in the Silver Truck,” examines the tragic case of 28-year-old Laura Pietscher, whose body was found in a dumpster in Tampa, Florida. Born with a physical disability, Laura was strangled to death and her body hidden under a wood board, covered with a plastic bag. The investigation leads detectives to CCTV footage, which becomes key in identifying her murderer.
On October 19, 2018, the body of Laura Pietscher was discovered in a dumpster located behind a Latin food market on North 15th Street in Tampa. What made the discovery even more tragic was the fact that Laura had been born without a left forearm and had only two fingers and a thumb on that arm. Her death was determined to be caused by strangulation.
Five months after Laura’s body was found, in March 2019, a major breakthrough occurred. Gary Tyrone Danielle, 50, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Forensic evidence had linked him to the crime, leading to his identification as a person of interest. In August 2024, Danielle pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
See No Evil: The Girl in the Silver Truck airs on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. on Investigation Discovery.
