Terry, a former drug addict and sex worker, recounts her tumultuous relationship with Randall, who was sentenced to death in 1997 for the brutal murders of two women and suspected of numerous other unsolved killings. She describes how Randall offered her a place to stay and a chance to turn her life around, unaware of his dark past, which included kidnapping, assault, and the suspected murder of his ex-wife’s best friend.

As their relationship progressed, Randall exhibited strange and threatening behavior. He would hide and jump out at Terry, and even strangle her at home. Fearful, Terry began planning her escape. Meanwhile, local sex workers were being found strangled to death, unaware that a killer was in their midst.

In a shocking twist, detectives approached Terry during a college class and revealed that her boyfriend, James Randall, was responsible for the murders of young women in the area. On the run, Randall was captured thanks to Terry’s cooperation with the police. In a devastating prison confession, Randall admitted to killing other women to spare Terry from becoming a victim.
