Series Premiere, STABLE: The Boxing Game, March 30, BBC One

A new documentary series, called STABLE: The Boxing Game, will premiere on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Produced by Lorton Entertainment, the series follows the McGuigan family’s boxing gym and showcases the journey of eight fighters from different parts of the UK as they try to make it in the sport.

The show gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges faced by these fighters inside and outside of the ring. It features Shane McGuigan as the main trainer, his brother Jake McGuigan as the manager, and assistant coach Josh Pritchard. The series also highlights the intense training and sacrifices made by the fighters at their gym in east London.

STABLE focuses on the stories of various boxers, including some well-known names like Chris Billam-Smith, Daniel and Caroline Dubois, Adam and Hassan Azim, Robbie Davies Jr., Ellie Scotney, and Anthony Fowler. It also explores the McGuigans’ own journey in boxing and the personal challenges they have encountered along the way.

The documentary aims to showcase the hard work, community spirit, resilience, and rewards that come with the sport of boxing. It will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer from 6 am on March 30, 2024, and will air on BBC One as double bills on March 30 and 31, following Match of the Day.
