ITV is diving into deeper water—literally—with new five-parter SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters, a high-stakes unscripted format that drops a group of celebs into the ocean to face their primal fear of sharks. The series lands in Q3 2025, timed to the 50th anniversary of Jaws.
The network has enlisted a headline-grabbing cast: Sir Lenny Henry, Rachel Riley, Helen George, Ross Noble, Ade Adepitan, Dougie Poynter, and Lucy Punch will all suit up for dives off the coast of Bimini in the Bahamas—home to Hammerheads, Bull sharks, and Tiger sharks—where the species get progressively more intimidating.
The format, greenlit by ITV Entertainment and produced by Plimsoll Productions, blends adrenaline-fueled wildlife encounters with celebrity reality. Across five episodes, the group will complete fear-based physical challenges while learning about the ecological importance of sharks—and why public perception needs a reset.
The show’s positioning straddles wildlife and mainstream entertainment, with SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters clearly engineered as an eye-catching tentpole with broad commercial appeal.
