Sheriff Mickey Fox faces a personal and professional crisis when her daughter, Skye, is named the primary suspect in a murder case. The direct conflict of interest forces Mickey to relinquish her official duties and step away from the investigation, leaving her department to handle the inquiry without her.
Stripped of her authority, Mickey refuses to remain on the sidelines while her daughter’s future is at stake. She begins her own clandestine investigation to uncover the truth and identify the person responsible for the crime. This course of action puts her in a difficult position, operating outside the law she is sworn to uphold and potentially obstructing the official police work.
Her unofficial search for evidence creates friction within her family and with her colleagues. Mickey must confront difficult questions about her daughter while risking her career to prove Skye’s innocence. Every new discovery could either exonerate her daughter or confirm the suspicions of the investigators, forcing Mickey to consider how far she is willing to go to protect her family.
