On Friday, May 10, 2024, FOX’s Sherri welcomes former talk show host Ricki Lake to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Ricki Lake, an American television host and actress, rose to fame with her lead role as Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 film Hairspray. Lake made her film debut with Hairspray, directed by John Waters, and later starred in other Waters films, including Cry-Baby, Cecil B. Demented, and Serial Mom. She also had a recurring role on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens and appeared in television series such as Drop Dead Diva and China Beach.
Lake’s career in daytime television began in 1993 with her syndicated talk show, Ricki Lake, which ran until 2004. She returned to the talk show format in 2012 with The Ricki Lake Show, which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2013. Lake has also explored other avenues in television, hosting the CBS limited series Gameshow Marathon and competing on Dancing with the Stars.
Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd, is currently in its third season. The show offers a mix of entertainment news, pop culture, and trending topics, along with celebrity interviews and human-interest stories.
