Sight Unseen has consistently proven to be a show that knows how to wring every drop of tension out of a case-of-the-week, and “About a Boy” looks to be no different. This time, a carjacking takes a terrifying turn when the thief discovers a six-year-old boy hiding in the back. Suddenly, it’s not just about stolen goods; it’s a child’s life hanging in the balance. Tess and Jake are, of course, on the case, but the pressure cooker of a child abduction investigation is a whole new level of complicated.
Expect a tense standoff. Expect Tess to dig deep into her well of empathy – and to find it challenged like never before. The case forces her to confront painful echoes of her own family history, adding a personal touch to an already fraught situation. Because, you know, just catching the bad guy and saving the kid isn’t enough; we need some good old-fashioned character development, too.
Elsewhere in the Sight Unseen universe, Sunny, still reeling from recent events, throws herself into the case as a form of emotional avoidance. Healthy? Probably not. Compelling television? Almost certainly. And then there’s Matt, seemingly moving on from his romantic entanglement with Tess. Which, let’s be honest, was probably for the best.
“About a Boy” airs Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10 PM on CTV.
