The BBC has announced two new major series featuring presenter Simon Reeve: Wilderness with Simon Reeve and Scandinavia with Simon Reeve. These series will air on BBC Two and iPlayer, offering viewers a unique perspective on remote wildernesses and the Scandinavian region.

Simon Reeve shared his excitement about the upcoming projects, expressing confidence that both series will “deliver surprises and thrills.” He praised the beauty and ruggedness of Scandinavia, “It’s much more than just flat-pack furniture, reliable cars and candles. I know we’ll find situations, people, landscapes and facts that make my jaw drop.”

Wilderness with Simon Reeve will consist of four episodes, each exploring a different remote and beautiful wilderness where nature reigns supreme. Reeve will interact with locals and seek out iconic wildlife, providing viewers with a deeper understanding of our planet’s last great wild places.

The first series of Wilderness with Simon Reeve was a ratings success, becoming the highest-rated series on BBC Two in any genre since 2022. This prompted the commission of the second series by BBC Factual. Tom Coveney, Head of Commissioning, Science, shared his anticipation for Reeve’s “intrepid adventures” and the insights they will bring.

In addition to Wilderness, Reeve will embark on a journey through Scandinavia, from the Arctic to the Baltic. This travelogue, slated for a Spring 2025 release, will showcase the region’s spectacular scenery while also exploring the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and mass immigration on Nordic societies.
