The Simpsons: Estranger Things (FOX, Sunday, May 18, 2025)

The Simpsons Key Art

So, “The Simpsons” wraps up another season. This time, it’s with a touch of sibling rivalry and a dash of celebrity guest voices. In “Estranger Things,” airing Sunday, May 18 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FOX, Marge grapples with the ever-shifting sands of family life. Her latest concern? Bart and Lisa’s shared love of “Itchy & Scratchy” has apparently hit a snag, and she worries they’re growing apart. (Ah, the timeless anxieties of parenthood, even in Springfield.)

Adding a bit of star power to the mix, “Estranger Things” features Sarah McLachlan as herself (or, you know, a cartoon version thereof), Zooey Deschanel as Quirk Girl, and Max Greenfield as Schultz. It makes you wonder – does Quirk Girl have an opinion on the “Itchy & Scratchy” situation? And just who is this Schultz character anyway?

As always, the core voice cast is present and accounted for: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer. These stalwarts of Springfield continue to crank out episodes of what is now the longest-running scripted show in US television history.

Will Bart and Lisa find their way back to shared cartoon ultra-violence? Will Marge’s worries prove founded? I mean, it’s “The Simpsons,” so probably not, but tune in anyway.
