Paramount+ is set to debut a shocking new docuseries, “SIN CITY GIGOLO: A MURDER IN LAS VEGAS,” on March 4. The series explores the disturbing case of a former cast member of the SHOWTIME(R) reality show “GIGOLOS,” who found himself at the center of a murder investigation.
The original “GIGOLOS” series, which aired in the mid-2000s, offered a glimpse into the lives of five male escorts in Las Vegas, quickly becoming a pop-culture hit. But the lines between entertainment and a darker reality blurred when one of the show’s stars was arrested in 2020, accused of killing a young woman.
What begins with the discovery of a battered body in the residence of a “GIGOLOS” personality quickly spirals into a complex investigation. The docuseries examines the Las Vegas Police Department’s work, the victim’s identity, and the events leading up to the death.
The docuseries skillfully combines scenes from the original “GIGOLOS” with new material, providing insight on not only the investigation, yet, the world of sex work, the hunger for celebrity, and the city of Las Vegas itself.
With insights from former “GIGOLOS” castmates, friends, family, and law enforcement, “SIN CITY GIGOLO” seeks to understand what drove a man known for promoting positivity to commit such a violent act. It ponders whether the pressure of fame played a role in this terrible event.
“SIN CITY GIGOLO: A MURDER IN LAS VEGAS” is brought to viewers through a collaboration between Susan Zirinsky’s See It Now Studios and Pyramid Productions. The docuseries, distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, is under the expert direction of Barbara Shearer.
