The episode, titled “Checkmate,” features a shocking visit from Sister Boniface’s mother and father, Vivienne (Maggie Steed) and Malise Bonham-Crane (Geoff McGivern). Sister Boniface finds herself up against formidable opponents, including the inscrutable Anthony Whitlock (Daniel Cerqueira), his wife Nadiya (Andreea Paduraru), the exceptionally intelligent Oliver Canning (Ben Mansfield), and the dynamic duo of Evelyn Thurleigh (Jonny Khan) and their trainer, Jack Denbury (Tom Glenister).
However, the game takes a deadly turn when Anthony is discovered dead, having been injected with a mysterious and lethal substance. With the tournament now overshadowed by this tragic event, Sister Boniface and her father embark on a race against time to decipher hidden codes and prevent further harm to both individuals and national security.
