Sister Wives Season 19 Episode 18 Recap: “Money Is the Root of All Evil”

The Brown family circus is back in town, and this time, the ringmaster’s juggling act involves lawsuits, land disputes, and a whole lot of bitterness. In “Money Is the Root of All Evil,” the Coyote Pass property saga takes center stage, with Kody Brown facing off against his ex-wives, Meri and Janelle, in what’s shaping up to be a messy legal showdown.

More than a year post-divorce, Meri is still locked in a financial tug-of-war with Kody over her share of the Coyote Pass pie. She’s now contemplating legal action to wrestle free what she believes she’s owed, adding another chapter to the seemingly endless Brown family drama.

Meanwhile, Janelle, always the pragmatic one, is also preparing for a legal battle. Having been a significant financial contributor to the family over the years, she’s not about to let Kody walk away with what she considers rightfully hers.

But Kody, claiming to be strapped for cash, has other plans. He’s brought in a realtor to sell off portions of Coyote Pass—a move he made unilaterally, without so much as a courtesy call to his ex-wives. Smooth move, Kody. Real smooth.

Amidst the financial fracas, both Meri and Janelle are forging new paths. Meri is dipping her toes back into the dating pool (and has acquired a new canine companion—because who needs a husband when you have a furry friend?), while Janelle is setting her sights on North Carolina and a new venture: a flower farm.

Adding a dash of irony to the mix, Christine, now happily remarried and building a new life in Utah, is blissfully removed from the property drama. She’s got bigger fish to fry, like her own burgeoning business. Meri, too, has a new business venture under her belt, further cementing her independence from the Brown family chaos.

And let’s not forget the ever-present elephant in the room: Kody’s insistence that Robyn was the only wife he truly loved. This continues to be a source of tension, fueling the resentment between him and his ex-wives. In the midst of the drama, Kody offered unsolicited dating advice to Meri telling her to ditch her girlfriends.

As for the Coyote Pass property itself? The fourteen-acre plot is the center of the dispute, with Kody claiming Meri’s share is a mere acre and a half.

The episode wrapped up with Janelle happily announcing that she had her offer accepted on a new flower farm, much larger than the lot on Coyote Pass and Kody accusing her of stealing funds.
