Sister Wives Season 19 Episode 18 Recap: “Love Is Patient, Love Is Kind”

So, Christine Brown finally got hitched! In a ceremony that could’ve been ripped from the pages of a Harlequin romance (if Harlequin romances involved slightly awkward family dynamics and a distinct lack of sister wives), Christine and David Woolley tied the knot. The Colorado River provided a picturesque backdrop for the nuptials, while the Brown family drama added a certain je ne sais quoi.

Christine, radiating a level of happiness not seen since, well, probably never during her time with Kody, seemed to float down the aisle. Her kids, initially skeptical of the relationship’s whirlwind pace, ultimately rallied around their mom, clearly relieved to see her genuinely happy. Who needs a gaggle of sister wives when you’ve got a supportive offspring and a groom who looks at you like you’re the last slice of pecan pie?

Speaking of sister wives, Robyn and Kody were conspicuously MIA. A wedding invitation, accidentally overlooked by one of the kids, provided a convenient excuse for their absence. Robyn expressed predictable hurt feelings, but Kody, ever the pragmatist, opted to focus on the pressing issue of a precarious tree removal project at home. Is it just me, or did that tree removal feel oddly symbolic of his crumbling family tree?

While Kody sawed away at branches (and possibly his remaining familial connections), Christine and David celebrated with a reception and a playful strip tease by Christine for her new husband. Somewhere in Flagstaff, Kody was probably dodging falling branches and musing on the joys of Robyn’s undivided attention. He even admitted to enjoying the focused attention, prompting viewers to wonder: Is Kody ready to ditch the whole plural marriage thing?

Meanwhile, Meri, also uninvited to the wedding, continued her journey of self-discovery, channeling her energy into Halloween decorating at her Utah home. And Janelle? She’s living the grandma life and enjoying her strong bond with Christine. It seems the women of this formerly polygamous clan are thriving. As for Kody? Let’s just say he’s busy branching out… into who knows what.
