Sister Wives “The Truth Will Set You Free” (TLC, Sunday, December 15, 2024)

Ah, the Brown family. Never a dull moment, is there? This week’s Sister Wives installment, “The Truth Will Set You Free,” will deliver the usual blend of awkward romance, questionable culinary choices, and enough interpersonal drama to fuel a small-town gossip mill for a year.

First up, we’ve got Kody and Robyn on a date. Now, I’m not sure what constitutes a romantic outing for these two – maybe a spirited discussion about the merits of monogamy while pointedly ignoring the implosion of Kody’s other relationships? Perhaps a trip to the grocery store to stockpile shelf-stable meals for the impending apocalypse Kody seems so convinced is coming? Whatever it is, I’m certain it’ll be unintentionally hilarious.

Meanwhile, Christine, having successfully escaped Kody’s gravitational pull of dysfunction, is celebrating her engagement to David. The festivities involve “very messy tacos,” which, frankly, feels like a metaphor for Kody’s entire life at this point. One can only hope the tacos aren’t too messy, or we might get another infamous nachos incident.

And then there’s Meri, who, along with Jenn, is off to Las Vegas for a chat with Brandi. The topic of conversation? Meri’s own spiritual divorce from Kody. Because if there’s one thing Meri needs, it’s more spiritual advice from someone still entangled in the Brown family web. This has “train wreck” written all over it, and I, for one, can’t look away.
