‘Wicked’, ‘One Chicago’ Crossover, ‘Dead City’ Return Lead Packed Week of July 5 Across Sky Channels

Chicago P.D.

A star-powered new film debut, a rare three-part crossover event, and the return of a brutal Manhattan showdown headline a stacked week of TV across Sky’s major platforms from Saturday, July 5 through Friday, July 11.

The centrepiece is Wicked, premiering Friday, July 11 on Sky Cinema Premiere and NOW. The big-budget fantasy sees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande step into the gravity-defying roles of Elphaba and Glinda. The story, built on the bones of Oz’s most infamous characters, follows two students at Shiz University who forge a fraught alliance before spiralling into destiny-altering choices. Universal’s push to bring the musical to screen comes with top-tier casting and major commercial weight behind it.

Over on Sky Witness, Chicago’s finest unite for the first One Chicago crossover since 2019. The three-hour block begins with Chicago Fire at 8pm, followed by Chicago Med at 9pm and Chicago PD at 10pm on Friday, July 11. The event centres on a high-rise explosion and an underground crisis that pulls every unit into the same life-or-death rescue.

Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are now on opposing sides of a power struggle in post-apocalyptic Manhattan. With war looming and uneasy alliances forming, the new season drops all episodes at once.

Saturday, July 5 brings new psychological horror Strange Darling to Sky Cinema Premiere and NOW, while Sunday, July 6 sees the platform debut of I Don’t Understand You, a tense European thriller following an American couple stranded in rural Italy.
