Sky’s “A League of Their Own” Signs Mo Gilligan as Recurring Red Team Panellist

Sky’s A League of Their Own, the BAFTA-winning sports comedy series, will return to screens in October with a new leading man. Comedian, presenter and triple BAFTA-winner Mo Gilligan, a familiar face from previous series and one of the most celebrated TV stars right now, will be joining ALOTO veteran Jamie Redknapp on the red team.
The blue team, led by Lioness legend and former Man City and England right back Jill Scott, will take on the red team, whose roster also features ALOTO’s other recently announced new face, former Man City and England right back Micah Richards. Romesh Ranganathan is back to run the show.
With Stuart Broad, Mary Earps, Christian Horner, Daniel Sturridge, Tom Davis, Katherine Ryan, Rob Beckett, Jimmy Carr, Maisie Adam, Guz Khan, Alex Brooker, Big Zuu, and many more joining the teams each week, the brand-new series, available on Sky Max and streaming service NOW, is sure to be another corker.
Insane tests await the ALOTO clan, such as a penalty shootout at Old Trafford in front of a raucous crowd, a competition to determine who is the best Peloton instructor, and a cricket tournament inspired by Bazball.
“It’s good people and good vibes” – Mo Gilligan
On his huge new permanent transfer, Mo Gilligan said: “I love this show. I always have. It’s good people and good vibes. When Sky asked if I’d consider joining the A League of Their Own team, there was no question in my mind. It was an immediate yes. I’m here for it all!”
Who is behind the series
Back for its 18th season, A League of Their Own was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts and Entertainment. The Commissioning Editor for Sky UK is Barbara Lee and the Executive Producers for CPL, a Seven. One Studios company, are Murray Boland, Danielle Lux, Jack Shillaker and David Taylor.
