Sunday night’s episode of Snapped: Behind Bars examines the case of Tabitha Messina, who, along with her friend Carlos Christopher, committed a brutal double murder.
On July 29, 2007, Messina and Christopher broke into the South Euclid home of Messina’s father, Richard Messina, and his girlfriend, Sandra Cover. Armed with an axe and a crowbar, they launched a vicious attack on the sleeping couple, resulting in their deaths.
Following the homicide, Messina and Christopher ransacked the house and stole two of Richard Messina’s vehicles, a Corvette and a GMC Jimmy. They then fled to North Carolina, attempting to evade justice. However, their escape was short-lived. Tabitha Messina pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder and one count of robbery. She is currently serving a life sentence with no possibility of parole.
Her accomplice, Carlos Christopher, faced a similar fate. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to two life sentences without the possibility of parole. Now, for the first time on camera, Tabitha Messina speaks out from prison, providing her account of the murders and shifting blame onto her convicted co-conspirator.
Snapped: Behind Bars, Tabitha Messina airs Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. on Oxygen True Crime.
