“SNL” Rounds Out 2024 With Paul Mescal, Chris Rock, and Martin Short

Saturday Night Live Generic

Saturday Night Live” is set to close out 2024 with a trio of new episodes featuring a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent. So, dust off your “More Cowbell” t-shirt and prepare for a potentially amusing December.

First up, on Saturday, December 7, Paul Mescal, fresh off his gladiatoring in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II,” takes on hosting duties for the first time. Providing the musical accompaniment will be Shaboozey, making his “SNL” debut. If you’ve somehow avoided hearing “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” well, consider this your warning.

Then, on Saturday, December 14, comedy veteran Chris Rock returns to Studio 8H for his fourth stint as host. He’ll be joined by singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, also making her first appearance as musical guest. Abrams is currently touring in support of her album “The Secret of Us,” so expect some fresh tunes.

Finally, on Saturday, December 21, “Only Murders in the Building” star Martin Short returns for his third solo hosting gig and fifth overall. Musician Hozier will also be back for a second time, conveniently timed with the release of the deluxe version of his album “Unreal Unearth.”

These final three shows of 2024 for “Saturday Night Live” will air on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT and will also stream live on Peacock. Every season of “Saturday Night Live” is also available on Peacock, in case you need a refresher course in comedic history before the new episodes drop. And don’t forget, “SNL” will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a primetime special on Sunday, February 16.
