Solitary: ITV Studios Acquires Rights to Controversial Isolation Format

ITV Studios

A controversial reality format that walls contestants off in total isolation is getting a new lease on life. ITV Studios has acquired the global rights to Solitary, a bold social experiment that was once the flagship show for the FOX Reality Channel, and plans to relaunch it for a modern audience. The format sees contestants confined to individual pods with no human contact, competing in grueling mental and physical challenges until only one remains.

The deal for the format, created by Lincoln Hiatt and Andrew Golder, headlines a series of international moves for ITV Studios. The sizzling murder mystery format A Party To Die For will be heading to Spain, its third international adaptation. The global hit quiz show The Chase is expanding to its 22nd territory with a new version for New Zealand.
