The quest for love can be complicated enough, but toss in a reality show setting, competitive challenges, and the ever-present guidance of mothers, and you have “#Somebody’s Son.” This Saturday, the search for Black love heats up, and it looks like jealousy could throw a wrench in the works.
In the episode titled “#JealousyRises,” a couples’ photo shoot victory earns one woman a coveted date with Joshua. As you might guess, this sends ripples of envy through the mansion, testing the bonds between the competing women. Meanwhile, James works on his connection with Alyssia during a dinner, building what looks like a strong rapport.
The series centers on three successful Black men searching for their ideal partners, with their mothers offering advice and, at times, adding a touch of drama.
