This Sunday, “Songs of Praise” travels to the beautiful landscapes of Northumberland to explore the inspiring stories of older Christians and their enduring faith. Presenter Pam Rhodes meets with individuals whose lives are testaments to the power of belief and the contributions of older people within the Church.
At 80 years old, author and Faith in Later Life ambassador Ian Knox discusses the particular challenges and unique contributions of older members of the Christian community. The episode also features 74-year-old Rosalind Driver, whose faith fuels her incredible fundraising efforts for a local hospice, inspiring her to take on challenges like fire walking and skydiving.
Adding another dimension to the episode is Christine Sindall, 82, one of the first women ordained in the Anglican church. She shares her story of dedicating her life to simplicity and prayer. Interspersed with these moving personal stories are hymns from across the UK, including a performance of “Be Still For the Presence of The Lord” by Aled Jones and Katherine Jenkins.
“Songs of Praise” airs this Sunday, April 6th at 1:15 PM on BBC One.
