Stacey Solomon returns with her team of organizers to tackle a home overwhelmed by clutter – and a family facing a fresh start. This Tuesday, “Sort Your Life Out” travels to Wales to help Katrina Bowen, a single mum of four, get a handle on her overflowing rented house.
Recently relocated from the West Midlands, Katrina is struggling to manage the chaos of moving and single parenthood. As with every “Sort Your Life Out” episode, the Bowens pack up every single possession, allowing Stacey and her team to see the true potential of their home. It’s during this process that Stacey learns about 17-year-old Tayla’s battle with childhood cancer and her recent remission – a poignant reminder of the family’s strength and resilience.
The scale of the clutter becomes starkly apparent when the family’s belongings are laid out in a warehouse: 425 stuffed animals, 37 pairs of scissors, and 123 fancy dress outfits are just a few examples. The episode explores Katrina’s journey – reflecting on Tayla’s chemotherapy while pregnant with her youngest, Olivia, and the recent separation from her partner. With Stacey’s gentle encouragement, Katrina confronts the emotional baggage tied to these items and starts to let go of the past.
While Katrina processes her emotions, the team gets to work. Rob creates a secret door leading to a kids’ den, transforming the family room into a warm and inviting space. Iwan tackles a full renovation and plants a vibrant vegetable patch outside. Dilly, the organization guru, implements practical solutions to free up Katrina’s time and create a sense of calm. Stacey’s mission to bring the peace of the Welsh countryside indoors looks successful.
“Sort Your Life Out” airs Tuesday, March 11th at 8:00 PM on BBC One.
